Job Description:

The Office of Sorority and Fraternity Life at the University of Florida is excited to welcome a summer intern to the team for Summer of 2025. This position is open to first- or second-year graduate students pursuing a career in Higher Education and Student Affairs.

Timeline:
Applicants would ideally start Friday, May 16th and wrap up internship assignments on Friday, August 8th. These dates are flexible.

Compensation and Benefits:

•$15.00/hour for 20 hours a week; approx. total; $4,000.00
•University housing, on-campus parking, and declining balance meal plan
•Interns will generally work 20-25 hours a week. Night and weekends availability required.

Position Description:

  • Assist with office presentations and tabling during University’s Preview sessions.
  • Assist in advising and supporting a team of 20+ Florida Greek Ambassadors.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings with Sorority and Fraternity Life team.
  • Provide support in planning the recruitment processes for the Panhellenic and Interfraternity Councils.
  • Participate in benchmarking efforts with peer institutions in the Southeastern Conference.
  • Develop curriculum for fall leadership programs hosted by the Office of Sorority and Fraternity Life (Member Development Series, Florida Greek Ambassadors, SFL Cares, Officer Transitions)
  • Assist in the development and implementation of departmental and office mission and strategic planning.
  • Advise and assist with campus-wide programs and events as directed.Assist in the creation and implementation of programming initiatives including training, leadership classes, and other educational activities for sororities and fraternities as well as their leadership councils.
  • Work collaboratively with the Dean of Students Office, University Police Department, and other entities as needed regarding Greek organizations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Expected Salary:

$15.00/hr

Minimum Requirements:

This position is open to first- or second-year graduate students pursuing a career in Higher Education and Student Affairs.

This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) and must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week.
