With the dynamic nature of the research programs at NFREC the incumbent is expected to adapt quickly and learn new techniques and methods warranted by the nature of the study. Must be a team player. The incumbent must be proficient with basic computer operations. Certain activities involve extended hours of heat/cold exposure. The ICBR Cytometry Shared Resource provides critical support to UF investigators conducting research across a wide array of topics including plant and animal cell biology, insects, and microbes. The incumbent will operate several flow cytometers and sorters (BD LSRFortessa, BD FACSymphony A3, Sony ID7000 Spectral, BD FACSCanto II, Accuri C6 Plus, BD FACSymphony S6, BD FACSFusion, Sony SH800 sorter), small particle analyzer (NS300 and NanoFCM) and optical microscopes including the Stellaris 8 STED spectrum confocal microscope and provide self-user training to core facility users. This position will perform routine instrument calibration and maintenance, troubleshoot equipment failures and schedule and supervise repairs from field service engineers and core facility staff members. The successful candidate must have the ability to think independently, have attention to detail, and possess excellent problem-solving skills.
