The Office of Community & Belonging serves as the hub for student leaders, student organizations, campus events, and a variety of programs and spaces that help students find and build community. The Administrative Specialist I described is primarily responsible for supporting the general administrative functions for the entire Community & Belonging team. This includes office management, program support, clerical, human resources, administrative support including direct support for the Director. This role includes the management and guidance of desk protocols for the Community & Belonging team, which may include the supervision of student assistants. Additionally, this position is responsible for maintaining various information processes and filing systems, managing receptionist duties, scheduling (i.e., coverage, managing reservation requests) producing reports and correspondence, handling fiscal responsibilities, scheduling meetings, answering multiple phone lines, planning, coordinating events, providing customer service to students, faculty, staff, community members, and others who engage with the office. Finally, as an integral member within the Student Engagement team, this role works to enhance the student experience and provide a variety of opportunities that promote an individualized excellent student experience for every Gator.

Healthy Families is a nationally accredited, statewide program that works to prevent child abuse and neglect before it begins. Established in Florida Statute 409.153, Healthy Families plays a critical role in identifying, funding, and supporting initiatives that improve the development and life outcomes of children while preserving and strengthening families, with a primary focus on prevention. The program provides community-based home visitation services, promoting child health and development as well as positive parent-child interactions. Families join the program either prenatally or shortly after birth and can remain in the program for three to five years, depending on their needs. The Family Support Worker (FSW) supports families residing in Alachua, Columbia, Union, and Bradford counties by helping them improve family functioning and raise healthy children. This role involves regular in-home visits to provide advocacy and support for personal and parenting needs. Initially, visits occur weekly and taper off to every two to four weeks as families make progress toward their goals. The Family Support Worker is responsible for managing a caseload of 15-25 families, ensuring ongoing programmatic compliance with both University of Florida and Healthy Families of Florida standards.
