Job Description:

The Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering at the University of Florida invites applications for a full-time, time-limited, non-tenure track, 12-month faculty position at the rank of Assistant Engineer in the Department of Computer & Information Science & Engineering. Initial appointment will be for one year with annual re-appointment based on performance and available funding.

This position is housed within the LearnDialogue group (learndialogue.org), an interdisciplinary lab that builds artificial intelligence and spoken conversational interfaces to support collaboration, learning, and sports. The portfolio of projects within the LearnDialogue group spans elementary, middle, and high school K-12 as well as undergraduate computer science education and supports collaboration among children and adults as well as investigating human-computer interaction issues around supporting sports and exercise. The successful candidate will be expected to lead software development projects related to these research efforts.

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree in computer & information science & engineering or a related field plus 1 year of professional experience in software development.
