Full-Time Research/OPS Technician

Job details:

• Seasonal full-time, 40 hours per week, from late May/early June 2024 to December 31st 2024
• $16.00/hour
• Flexible daily schedule
• Possibility for continued employment depending on performance

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with project setup and maintenance, data collection, and harvesting of hops, hemp, and kratom
• Maintain a detailed record of performance and activities using a laboratory notebook and Microsoft Teams
• Perform key plant maintenance tasks including but not limited to fertilization, pH and EC monitoring, weed management, pest scouting, and plant propagation
• Assist In documenting and describing project milestones for reports and manuscripts
• Work in various environmental conditions in the field and greenhouses
• Maintain proximity with plants containing volatile and physical irritants (hops and hemp)

$16.00 hourly

• Effective oral and written communication
• Must be able to work in hot and humid environments
• Ability to climb ladders up to 10 ft in height and carry objects greater than 25 lbs
• Must be able to follow Instructions

Preferred Skills:

• Associates degree or on-going education in Biology, Horticulture, Botany, Plant Science, Agronomy, or related fields
• Experience with greenhouse management and plant cultivation
• Simple data analysis
• Entomological knowledge
• Pesticide application experience
• Familiarity with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams)
