Job Description:

The Career Connections Center seeks a Coach for Leadership, Career and Community Engagement to support the management, promotion, and education of stakeholders of university-wide experiential learning initiatives and technologies. The Coach will serve various students based on their leadership, career, and community engagement interests and is responsible for creating programs that support student leadership development and student success. 

Supports the approach to removing barriers for students to engage in Experiential Learning at the University of Florida through the administration of technology and education tools. Develops the outreach and communication plan to increase awareness of assigned educational technology and tools for campus. Creates materials to leverage scalable tools and services for all campus stakeholders including activities and lesson plans for infusing leadership and career development into curriculum. 

Serve as point of contact for the multiple projects within the Career and Integrated Partnership portfolio focused on the user experience and assist with systems effectiveness across departments. Serves as the database administrator for the Brown Center for Leadership and Service database of experiential learning offerings and student engagement. Work collaboratively with departments to evaluate and disseminate system information to appropriate constituents; make recommendations to improve the services and efficiencies based on system usage. Coordinate the implementation of system updates, staff training, and launching of new system enhancements. 

Provides individual and group career, leadership, and community engagement planning services to all University of Florida students. Facilitates individual coaching appointments, drop-in services, and small group coaching to University of Florida undergraduate and graduate students from all majors and colleges. Facilitates community engagement education workshops, large group programs, and outreach to all University of Florida students. Develops programming associated with career & student success tools and related topics in support of the center’s strategic plan. Engages with campus partners (i.e. alumni, staff, faculty, employers, families) to promote student success tools and skills-based programming. 

 

Performs other administrative duties as assigned by the Sr. Associate Director for Integrated Career Solutions and higher authorities in the department and division.  Attend staff and one-on-one supervision meetings to communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors. Participates in department, division and university-wide committees. Potentially supervises interns, or student assistants. May have indirect impact on the position duties of other Center staff members.  Lives out Center’s values in all aspects of job function.  

 

Expected Salary:

50,000

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

EDUCATION & TRAINING: Master’s degree in marketing, social sciences, student personnel, or human resources (HR)

EXPERIENCE
- Two (2) years of experience (minimum) in stakeholder engagement, marketing, sales, career development, career counseling, or HR

- Experience working inclusively with diverse populations

KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of industry relations, employment trends, student development, career services, marketing, and outreach strategies

SKILLS
- Skilled in computer applications
- Facilitative skills - Interpersonal skills
- Good presentations skills, listening skills, helping skills, relationship management, and program development

ABILITIES: Ability to work independently and contribute to a team
