UF Health: PHRC Core Laboratory Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and performing specialized testing in the areas of point-of-care, chemistry, immunology, urinalysis, hematology, coagulation, proteins and biomarkers, as well as signal linearity and linear and logistic regression. This position will assume administrative duties in supervising operations and personnel across UF Health: PHRC center and remote sites. Conduct performance appraisals and competency assessments for staff.

- Perform and supervise laboratory testing of human biological samples for research purposes using various methodologies
- Responsible for all routine quality assurance activities associated with the performance of laboratory and point-of-care testing; including reporting results and all quality control documentation
- Actively oversee the interfacing of automated instrumentation with the laboratory information system (LIS); involved in LIS-associated tasks such as test builds and dictionary maintenance
- Data validation, manipulation, and exporting in Excel
- Experience in applying supervised and unsupervised learning techniques such as signal linearity; share/bring in new innovations to lab
- This position is responsible for the performance, quality, and accuracy of the results reported; maintenance of instrumentation, including scheduled, preventive, and troubleshooting, as needed as well as maintenance of laboratory and laboratory equipment; preparation of standards, calibrators, and reagents; and adherence to the laboratory's quality management program, including quality assurance activities
- Purchase supplies, maintain instruments and equipment, and comply with all laboratory policies and procedures
- Directing activities related to dispatching, routing, tracking, and storing of specimens to create a system that responds quickly to center needs and runs efficiently
- Participate, with other technologists, in development of tests as defined by the laboratory director
- Keeps laboratory procedure manuals up to date and trains junior staff
- Responsible for keeping the UF Health: PHRC lab in a continual state of high-quality readiness per CAP, AHCA and CLIA requirements

Preferred Qualifications: |
- Working in healthcare or academic research environments
- Candidate with a background in working with older adults is preferred
- Knowledge with working and analyzing blood-based biomarkers is preferred
- Experience including cognitive health assessments such as AP 42|40, APOE preferred
- Preferred Degree Areas: Gerontology, neuropsychology, psychology, hematology,
microbiology or other similar area
- Prefer candidate who is phlebotomy certified or willing to obtain certification
