Job Description:

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville is seeking a full-time BE/BC experienced complex care pediatrician to join our outpatient Medically Complex Clinic (Clinic).  The clinic serves 500+ children as part of the Bower Lyman Center for Medically Complex Children (Center), that also includes a Transition Medicine practice, Inpatient Palliative Care team, Community-based Hospice and Palliative Care, Behavioral Health, and Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.  The Center cares for more than 2000 children annually.

The Center provides a unique, comprehensive system of care for children with complex medical conditions from birth into adulthood, in collaboration with Wolfson Children’s Hospital.  It trains medical and other multi-professional learners, including two fellows annually in Pediatric Hospice and Palliative Medicine and Complex Care.  Our team is actively engaged in clinical and health-systems research—providing opportunities for advancing academic pursuits.

The Clinic serves as a Medical-Behavioral home for the most complex infants and children—staff includes physicians, APPs, on-site nurse care coordinators and social workers, a triage and referral staff, family champions, and clinical support staff.  The full-time complex care pediatrician will be responsible for:

  • Providing outpatient care to new and established patients as part of the care team
  • After hours and weekend call on a rotation
  • Supervising APPs
  • Teaching medical students, residents and fellows in our palliative and complex care fellowship tracks

Expected Salary:

Negotiable base on experience and academic appointment.

Minimum Requirements:

Applicants must possess a MD/DO degree and possess or be eligible for a Florida Medical License.

Preferred Qualifications: BE/BC Pediatrician
