Assistant, Associate, Full Professor at the University of Florida. The Department of Medicine is seeking applications for a full-time clinician-research track position for the Division of Hematology/Oncology at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level. This position seeks an ABIM certified (or eligible) medical oncologist with experience in managing patients with GI cancers and an active interest in the development and conduct of interventional clinical trials and other collaborative clinical research projects. This individual will have a primarily clinical assignment, but will also be expected to develop, conduct and participate in clinical trials and other collaborative research involving patients with gastrointestinal malignancies with a particular focus on expanding the clinical care capacity and research portfolio offerings to patients with colorectal cancer. However, clinical care and research to a lesser degree is also expected to include cancers of the esophagus, stomach, pancreas, liver, bile ducts, neuroendocrine system, bowel and anus. The successful candidate will have the opportunity and be expected to collaborate in a variety of activities including subspecialty and multidisciplinary GI cancer clinic at the UF Health main campus, cancer case and research conferences both locally and nationally, collaborative GI oncology clinical research and interventional clinical trials.

Our center is a designated Pancreatic Cancer Center of Excellence through the National Pancreas Foundation and is a Founding member of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network Precision Promise Clinical Trial Network. We have programmatic research relationships with the NCI Clinical Trial Evaluation Program (CTEP), the National Clinical Trial Network (NCTN) through NRG Oncology main membership, the Experimental Therapeutics Clinical Trial Network (ETCTN) and multiple other clinical trial networks and foundations.
Resources available for professional development at the University of Florida Health Sciences Center include leadership, education, and research training through support from the UF Health Cancer Center, Clinical Translational Science Institute (CTSI), formal mentorship programs, and supported opportunities for teaching and research. Clinical research support is provided by the UF Health Cancer Center Clinical Research Office. Requisite attributes include a commitment to service, good verbal and written communication skills, a strong sense of teamwork and a desire to train tomorrow’s doctors.
Applicants must be board-certified or board eligible in Medical Oncology and be eligible for a Florida Medical License.
