UF Department of Epidemiology's Data Intelligence Systems Lab (DISL) is led by Dr. Mattia Prosperi, carrying out research in data science focused on epidemiology and public health (https://epidemiology.phhp.ufl.edu/research/disl/). DISL is looking to hire a data scientist to develop/apply methods and software to model diseases and health/life outcomes by analyzing large-scale data, in collaboration with other Departments and Colleges. Areas of research include infectious diseases (HIV, bacterial infections), social media analytics, and work health.
$15.00 - $35.00 per hour, commensurate with education, skills, and experience
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred applicants should have at least a Bachelor’s degree –but preferably a graduate degree– in computer science or related quantitative field being proficient in statistics/machine learning, programming (e.g., Python, R), and database systems. Prior experience with bio-health informatics projects is desirable.

Schedule: Hours will fluctuate from 20 to 40 hours weekly.
