The Opportunity
The Department of Pediatrics, a tertiary referral center for all north central Florida and beyond, invites applications for the position of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician - Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor.

The Division of General Pediatrics has created a novel Section of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, which includes five faculty physicians, two of whom are child and adolescent psychiatrists, six nurse practitioners trained in medical management of neurodevelopmental and behavioral health problems, two faculty psychologists, one of whom is research trained in the diagnosis and treatment of autism spectrum disorders, and eight psychotherapists licensed to treat children and adolescents with cognitive behavioral therapies. The successful applicant for this position will be co-located within this diverse, talented group of clinicians.

Pediatric problems commonly presenting to the Section include autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, global developmental delay, intellectual developmental disorder, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and other broad developmental and behavioral health problems often associated with complex medical and genetic comorbidities.

The successful applicant for this position will report to the Division Chief of General Pediatrics.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership of the Section of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics
• Prioritize diversity, equity and inclusion
• Provide direct clinical care of patients referred to UF for evaluation and treatment by a D-B pediatrician
• Provide supervision of and direct instruction to PL1, PL2, and PL3 pediatric residents
• Pursue new research initiatives and funding opportunities either independently or in collaboration with any faculty member in the Department of Pediatrics or in the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology or the UF Center for Autism and Neurodevelopment in the Department of Psychiatry.
• Collaborate with the Division Chief in the annual evaluation of members of the Section

Expected Salary: Commensurate with training and experience
Minimum Requirements:

Applicants must have a M.D. or D.O.  degree and be licensed in or eligible for licensure in the State of Florida in pediatrics and be board certified/board eligible in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics or Neurodevelopmental Pediatrics.

Preferred Qualifications: • Strong candidates will be motivated physicians with a desire for a career in pediatric medicine within an academic setting
• Strong interest in research within an academic setting
• Possess prior clinical experience in a teaching hospital
• Completed residency in pediatrics
• Completed a fellowship in Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics
• Strong interpersonal communication skills
• Strong written communications skills
