The School of Art + Art History in the College of the Arts seeks an Assistant or Associate Professor in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Design to bring their situated knowledge to its Design and Visual Communications (MFA) and Graphic Design (BFA) programs. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in teaching and research at the intersections of computing, AI, and design. UF’s ongoing AI initiative seeks to make UF a national leader in this technology, and this faculty member will take the lead in establishing design and visual communication’s participation within this flourishing research community. The School of Art + Art History strategically approaches AI as an infrastructure that can either compromise or foster pluriversality, depending on its design. As a vital participant in the collaborative, future-facing Design & Visual Communications faculty, this new colleague will bring a commitment to co-design and pluriversality to their research, teaching, and service in the School of Art + Art History. |
Postdoctoral Associate- AI-driven Drug Discovery

The Postdoctoral associate will work independently and collaboratively to develop novel deep learning algorithms for molecule design and optimization, molecular interaction modeling, and precision medicine. • Leading the development and optimization of the AI algorithms for protein- and RNA-targeted drug discovery;
• Supporting the AI modeling and data analysis for the ongoing research studies;
• Preparing and writing research papers, presentations, grant proposals, etc.;
• Effectively coordinating research progresses with other members of a multi-faculty team regularly;
• Mentoring undergraduate and graduate students;
• Performing routine lab maintenance and daily lab duties.
This position is in-person and is not eligible for remote work.

As part of this initiative, the Department of Neurosurgery is seeking qualified applicants for a tenure-track faculty position focusing on AI applications in brain tumor diagnosis, treatment, and/or health outcomes. Additionally, applications for neurosurgical diseases, i.e. cerebrovascular disease, primary and metastatic tumors treated by stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), etc. where data science, machine learning, and AI applications may improve diagnosis, treatment, and/or disease prevention are of interest.
