Job Description: |
The Division of Enrollment Management is seeking an experienced copywriter to join the Enrollment Marketing and Communications team to help recruit students by delivering high-quality storytelling and compelling marketing copy across a variety of channels and platforms. The copywriter will craft engaging and persuasive content that showcases the unique strengths of UF’s programs, faculty, and campus community. They will create and edit content that resonates with our target audience, especially prospective students and their families. The ideal candidate will ensure the writing connects on a personal level.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Content Creation & Messaging
- Write engaging, targeted content for emails, websites, marketing materials, digital ads, video scripts, press releases, and newsletters.
- Ensure all content aligns with university brand and editorial standards.
- Translate complex information into clear, user-friendly messaging.
- Proofread and edit for accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
Research & Data-Driven Optimization
- Conduct research and collaborate with subject matter experts to develop compelling content.
- Optimize web content for readability and to fulfill SEO requirements.
- Analyze data (open rates, click-through rates, A/B testing, surveys) to improve messaging effectiveness.
Campaign Support & Other Responsibilities
- Assist with documenting communication strategies and campaign workflows.
- Support testing of customized communication campaigns.
- Create and edit HTML emails and templates.
- Perform other duties as needed.
This position is located at the University of Florida's main campus in Gainesville, FL and may be eligible for a flexible, hybrid work arrangement in accordance with the University of Florida and Division of Enrollment Management's policies.

Expected Salary: |
$50,000 annually

Minimum Requirements: |
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area; or an associate’s degree and two years of relevant experience.
|
Preferred Qualifications: |
- Higher education, publication, or agency experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and problem-solving skills with the ability to be resourceful, proactive, and seek assistance as needed.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and time management skills.
- Experience with Slate and/or Salesforce.
- Knowledge of email compliance regulations.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
