The Department of Spanish and Portuguese Studies at the University of Florida seeks an instructor at the rank of Lecturer (working title: Assistant Instructional Professor) with experience teaching online Spanish, coordinating language courses at the university level, and mentoring instructors (including graduate teaching assistants). This is a full-time, twelve-month, non-tenure-accruing position (promotion eligible) to be renewed on a year-to-year basis, contingent on funding. The start date is August 16, 2026. This position requires physical presence in the Gainesville, FL area. Responsibilities of the position include: • Teaching lower-division Spanish courses for UF Online, with occasional assignments in the Spanish online residential program; the teaching distribution for this position will be three courses per semester plus a summer assignment. • Working closely with the UF Online Spanish Coordinator and the Director of Language Instruction to assist in coordinating Lower Division Spanish language online courses and to train and supervise graduate teaching assistants. • Participating in departmental duties, including committee work, ongoing training in pedagogy, curriculum development, and supervision of instructors.
