Job Description:

Communication Media Development
Promotes Extension Disaster Education Network (EDEN) and UF/IFAS Center for Public Issues Education in Agriculture and Natural Resources (PIE Center) research and outreach projects. Designs publications and develops social media content for EDEN and PIE Center projects. Assists in the development of videos supporting EDEN and the PIE Center. Writes EDEN technical reports from analyzed data. Assists in the development, distribution, and maintenance of Florida Extension’s “continuity of operations plans” (COOP) for state and county efforts.

Educational and Outreach Material Development
Coordinates events, EDEN programs, in-service trainings, and special projects as assigned. Communicates with external vendors and solicits quotes for services. Develops and disseminates educational and outreach materials resulting from research for various target audiences. Inputs and analyzes data from EDEN research projects.

Internal Coordination Responsibilities

Coordinates and assists with meetings, maintains inventory of equipment and printed materials, creates agendas for various EDEN and PIE Center meetings and implements action items. Provides general faculty and staff support as requested. Maintains center’s vehicle, including maintenance and logs.

Advertised Salary:

$35,000 - $37,000 Commensurate with education/qualifications and experience

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Advanced digital media development skills, print and electronic design skills using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere), teamwork, and personal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Applicants should have strong written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders. Must be proficient with several social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Proficiency with Microsoft Office is a plus. Should have a good understanding of adult education methods. Must be self-motivated and able to follow-through on necessary responsibilities and tasks. Must demonstrate initiative, creativity, and an aptitude for problem solving.
