Job Description:

As part of a major faculty hiring initiative, the Department of Chemistry at the University of Florida (http://www.chem.ufl.edu) seeks a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track appointment at the level of ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, in the general area of magnetic resonance, broadly defined, to begin August 16, 2018. The successful applicant will join over 40 Faculty in the Department, which is home to the Quantum Theory Project and the Butler Polymer Research Center.  The Department has recently opened the Joseph Hernandez Hall, a state-of-the-art teaching and research facility. Numerous opportunities exist for collaboration across the UF campus and the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (NHMFL) and the Advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Spectroscopy (AMRIS) Facility. The new faculty member will be expected to develop a successful research program that utilizes or develops magnetic resonance methodology, preferably with applications at high magnetic fields.

Advertised Salary:

The salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and includes a full benefits package.

Minimum Requirements:

Candidates must have earned a PhD in chemistry or relevant discipline and completed productive post-doctoral training.  Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse undergraduate and graduate student body, while establishing a well-recognized, extramurally funded research program, is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experimental training in magnetic resonance techniques at high magnetic fields.
