This position includes an administrative role and supplement as the Director of the Research Design and Data Coordinating Center (RDDC), of the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI). The Department is situated jointly within the College of Public Health and Health Professions (PHHP) and the College of Medicine (COM), in the Clinical and Translational Research Building, facilitating multidisciplinary research. Faculty members pursue independent and collaborative research; they also teach in the MS and PhD in Biostatistics Programs and support a concentration in Biostatistics as part of the Masters of Public Health Program. They are advisors and mentors to a wide variety of students. Our current faculty members are leaders in artificial intelligence, big data analysis, cancer, genetics, infectious disease modeling and intervention studies, medical image processing, metabolomics data analysis, survival analysis, causal inference, statistical methods of health surveys, high-dimensional inference, longitudinal data analysis, and clinical trials. The Water Resources Program (WRP), associated with Southwest REC (SWFREC) and Agricultural and Biological Engineering (ABE) department, conducts research and extension on sustainable agricultural solutions including Best Management Practices (BMPs), hydrology and water quality, and irrigation and drainage, and water-related ecosystem services from agriculture.
The UF/IFAS WRP Data Management Analyst I is responsible for developing and maintaining databases containing observed and estimated biophysical and remotely sensed data, agricultural input and management data, socioeconomic data, and end-user survey data to inform research and reporting related to development and evaluation of best management and other practices, ecosystem services from working lands, and sustainable system designs. This role will also contribute to collection of data including those obtained through UAV, and data-driven modeling within the WRP. Under supervision, the candidate will manage datasets, ensure data quality, produce statistical and narrative reports, and contribute to interpretation and predictions in line with WRP goals. This role will also help train WRP team members on utilizing modern AI-based tools including Power BI and other data visualization and analyses tools.
This position requires a strong technological acumen, able to stay current with the latest technologies and consider how they can be applied to WRP research and extension program as needed.
