Postdoctoral Researcher in Seismic Signatures of Wave-Dune Transfer
16240000 - LS-GEOLOGY
Main Campus (Gainesville, FL)
| We are launching an interdisciplinary effort to quantify how ocean waves transmit energy into coastal dunes and how that energy interacts with sediment properties, vegetation, water-table dynamics, and tides. A central goal is to integrate these observations with process-based numerical models to predict and explain morphological change of coastal dunes. The postdoc will design and deploy small seismic arrays across beach–dune transitions and integrate seismic observations with pressure/wave sensors, vegetation and morphology mapping, and UAS/drone flyovers. Initial tests will occur near St. Augustine/Matanzas Inlet (FL), with opportunities to expand to other Florida sites as the program grows. |
