| The Makino Laboratory seeks a part-time Laboratory Technician I (20 hours per week) at the Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps Institute for Biomedical Innovation & Technology in Jupiter, Florida. Our area of research focuses on investigating the molecular mechanisms of vascular complications in Diabetes, Pulmonary Hypertension, and Menopause, particularly in cell-cell communication, mitochondrial function, cell apoptosis/senescence, and calcium handling in the endoplasmic reticulum of endothelial and smooth muscle cells. The candidate will work in a fast-paced laboratory on various projects pertaining to basic and translational research focused on heart and lung vascular pathobiology, electrophysiology, and the pathogenic mechanisms of vascular and inflammatory diseases. The incumbent must have skills to handle small animals and conduct basic molecular biological experiments.
