GatorWell is seeking enthusiastic, outgoing graduate students skilled in public speaking and comfortable engaging with various student populations and group sizes through presentations (both in person and virtual), outreach, and interactive activities. Applicants should feel confident talking about a range of health topics and fielding questions about sensitive health topics such as sexual health, interpersonal violence prevention, alcohol and other drugs as well as on flourishing: stress, time management, and sleep habits. They must be able to work autonomously in developing health-topic specific outreach initiatives and activities focused on skill development for UF students. Students of any major are welcome to apply. We are able to accept students who are eligible for Federal Work Study but being eligible is not a requirement to work with GatorWell.
Disability Health Promotion Specialist 04052000 - SL-GATORWELL Main Campus (Gainesville, FL)
GatorWell is hiring a Disability Health Promotion Specialist. This position will be a member of the professional team for the Disability Resource Center, GatorWell Health Promotion Services, and the Division of Student Life. The Health Promotion Specialist, Disability Resource Center will be responsible for being the main Wellness Coach for students who utilize the Disability Resource Center. They will also help in developing, implementing, facilitating, and providing educational programming, initiatives, and workshops for students who utilize the Disability Resource Center.
Federal Work Study - CWC ALCOHOL & OTHER DRUGS (AOD) SERVICES GRADUATE STUDENT 04030100 - SL-COUNSELING & WELLNESS CTR Main Campus (Gainesville, FL)
The Counseling & Wellness Center (CWC) seeks a Graduate Student to assist with the activities of CWC’s and UF GatorWell’s Alcohol & Other Drug (AOD) Services programs. AOD services work to support UF students in gaining better understanding of the impact of substance use, develop programs that help students explore areas that may contribute to substance misuse, and facilitate services/initiatives to support students with goals of changing substance use patterns maintaining substance use goals and/or working towards abstaining and recovery. The AOD Graduate Student Assistant is responsible for assisting in the planning, development, and facilitation of intervention, prevention, and outreach services that center on safe substance use practices of UF students.
Federal Work Study - CWC STUDENT RECOVERY SUPPORT AMBASSADOR 04030100 - SL-COUNSELING & WELLNESS CTR Main Campus (Gainesville, FL)
The Counseling & Wellness Center (CWC) seeks a student(s) to assist with the activities of CWC’s and UF GatorWell’s Collegiate Recovery Program (CRP) efforts and CWC AOD Programming. UF’s Collegiate Recovery Program serves as a space for students in recovery from alcohol or other drugs and students who support those in recovery to connect with and support one another. CWC AOD Programming provides opportunities and activities that support UF students in providing resources and psychoeducation that dispels misconceptions related to alcohol and other drugs to reduce risk/harms associated with substance use. Services and resources assist students who may seek a sense of self-empowerment & independence from alcohol, marijuana, other substances, gambling, and/or other behavioral addictions they may be navigating through. The Student Recovery Support Ambassador is responsible for assisting in the planning, development, and facilitation of recovery services for UF students.
