UF Health Central Florida is seeking a Medical Director & UF Health Physician to build, advance, and elevate the strategic vision of the department. This position combines direct patient care service with leadership responsibilities in support of the Neurology department and Stroke program. Candidates should be eligible for the TEAMS rank of UF Health Physician and demonstrate experience with and commitment to advancing clinical, surgical and educational excellence within an academic medical center.
The Medical Director will be work closely with the executive management team to implement strategies that enhance patient care and improve the medical practice. Responsibilities include the provision of healthcare services, as well as administrative duties to steer operations and support the organizational functions of the clinic. Applicants will engage in a busy clinical practice in an established longstanding department.
Salary, rank and tenure status will be commensurate with credentials and experience.

This is an outstanding opportunity to be a part of a patient-centered, collegial group committed to delivering high-quality clinical care. Candidates should possess strong demonstrated expertise in general surgical pathology and cytopathology, intraoperative consultations, and the ability to lead the laboratory as medical director. Strong communication and relationship building skills are required. Two to five years' experience signing cases independently is highly desirable. This position is part of a small and growing practice that covers all anatomic and clinical pathology services for the UF Health Central Florida system laboratories, seeing approximately 2 million lab tests annually. The UF Health Leesburg Hospital is a 351-bed tertiary care center with advanced cardiac care at the Heart Institute. The UF Health The Villages® Hospital is a 307-bed acute care hospital with an active operating room in multiple subspecialties. The UF Health The Villages® Hospital Brownwood E.R. is a 16-bed free-standing facility for emergency care in the city of Wildwood. Each of these sites has a dedicated clinical laboratory. The combined annual 11,000 surgical pathology and cytopathology cases are rich in general oncology and gynecological oncology specialties.
