The Veterinary Technician Assistant Manager (VTAM) assists the Veterinary Technician Manager (VTM) in coordinating veterinary technical and clinical services. Assists in managing staff assignments, scheduling, training and performance evaluations for all veterinary technician levels. Assists in coordinating and providing support for clinical care, surgical and post-surgical monitoring and care, special services, protocol support, and teaching/training classes for ACS staff, UF research laboratories and external contract research studies. The VTAM must be competent in clinical care, including anesthesia and experimental surgery of laboratory animals, be able to provide comprehensive animal care and surgical support to all research animals, and be able to train veterinary care technician staff.
