This leader assists the Associate Dir of Admin Services in overseeing building operations, maintenance, repair, and facilities planning for a complex healthcare facility. SHCC is a 46,000-sq-ft, three-story building housing four clinics, a pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, and pathology. The facility includes 30 exam rooms and 25 restrooms, supporting ~48,000 patient visits annually, with the pharmacy filling over 24,000 prescriptions each year. This position oversees day-to-day operations, including custodial, maintenance, and facilities support to ensure a safe, clean, fully functional environment. The Ast Dir supervises a Custodial Superintendent, Maintenance Worker II, and indirectly five Custodial Workers. Responsibilities include scheduling maintenance and custodial operations; coordinating repairs, renovations, and construction; overseeing HVAC and other systems, including computer-based monitoring and troubleshooting; and ensuring all work meets health, safety, and University standards. In addition, the Ast Dir develops and revises operational policies and procedures to ensure efficient, compliant, and sustainable practices; negotiates and manages contracts related to building maintenance and services to ensure fiscal responsibility; and works collaboratively with leadership to align facility operations with the mission and needs of the Student Health Care Center.
