The University of Florida (UF) College of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry is currently recruiting for a faculty psychiatrist for the Adult Psychiatry Division. This faculty position is full-time (1.0 FTE) on the multi-mission, non-tenure track. This position will serve an active role in the clinical, educational, and scholarly life of the Department and the College of Medicine.
Responsibilities include providing inpatient consult-liaison (CL) psychiatry services, including providing initial psychiatric consultations and follow-up patient care at UF Shands Hospital, a 1,111 bed Level 1 trauma center with a children’s hospital, NCI-designated cancer institute, neuromedicine hospital and highly ranked solid organ transplant programs. The successful candidate for this position will have the opportunity to explore and develop interests in outpatient CL populations and in integrated psychiatric care in the primary care setting.
In accordance with the crucial role that education plays in the UF Department of Psychiatry, the successful candidate for this position will also serve an important role in clinical education through supervision and teaching of UF medical students, psychiatry residents, and fellows. Opportunities to develop and/or participate in clinical research and/or quality improvement projects are available, and clinical scholarship is strongly encouraged.
This position will report to the Directors of the Division of CL Psychiatry and Adult Psychiatry at UF. As a member of the clinical faculty of the Department of Psychiatry at UF, the position will require participation in on-call coverage of the UF Psychiatric Hospital. Rank is commensurate with education and experience.

About the Department of Psychiatry
|
Faculty in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Florida are engaged in groundbreaking projects covering a variety of interests through our Centers, labs, and collaborations with other departments. The Department of Psychiatry includes a large outpatient center with various specialty clinics within (including one associated with our Center for Autism and Neurodevelopment), a very active inpatient service, psychiatry collaborative program for primary care practitioners, school consultation program, and community consultation services. The Department of Psychiatry spans services across adult, addiction, and child/adolescent specializations, including a freestanding psychiatric hospital, a large consult liaison service at the main UF Shands Hospital, the Florida Recovery Center operated by our Addiction Division, and multiple research centers including the Center for Addiction Research & Education and the Center for OCD and Related Disorders (COARD) and.
