Job Description: |
ETC is a highly collaborative office where instructional designers, video, web services, graphic design and communications often work together on traditional online courses and professional development at the College of Education, along with diverse multi-year grants with stakeholders outside the College of Education. The responsibilities and duties vary daily.
We seek a highly motivated and skilled instructional design student intern to join our team for a dynamic internship opportunity. Instructional design interns will work primarily alongside our instructional designers in developing online courses, professional development, and micro courses. Tasks will be varied and dependent on time and need.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop online course elements in the Canvas Learning management system
- Apply instructional design best practices and principles to ensure instructional materials align with learning objectives and meet the needs of diverse learners
- Assist instructional designers in evaluating and revising existing course materials to improve learner engagement and outcomes
- Support the implementation of new tools and technologies to enhance the learning experience
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to improving instructional design processes within the office
- Assist in ongoing professional development opportunities for faculty throughout the fall and spring semesters
- Review and remediate content for accessibility
Other Key Skills
- Knowledge of Canvas Learning Management System. Other software used: Articulate Rise, Monday.com, Slack, Google Docs, Microsoft Teams, and some awareness of and experience with generative AI software (ChatGPT, Co-Pilot, Claude, etc.). Not required for the position.
- Ability to communicate effectively with instructional designers, teams (video, design), and even the subject matter expert
- Demonstrate openness, sensitivity, and the ability to interact respectfully with all people and understand individuals' differences

Expected Salary: |
$15.00 per hour
