Classification Minimum Requirements:

This position is open to people who are eligible to work on campus in Gainesville. Students must maintain a minimum of a 2.0 GP A and be enrolled for at least six credit hours a semester. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis for a maximum of 20 hours per week.

Job Description:

The Hitchcock Field & Fork Pantry is dedicated to building a more food-secure campus for the UF community. Responsible for providing free access to nutritious food for any campus member, the Pantry is at the forefront of meeting campus members' basic food needs. The Field & Fork Pantry is seeking a motivated, organized, and detail orientated-student to support weekly inventory receiving and tracking tasks. Those applying will need to be comfortable engaging in regular physical movement and working autonomously to achieve tasks. Applicants should be confident leading student staff and volunteers to support inventory needs. Applicants will be expected to always conduct themselves in a professional manner with fellow coworkers, students, and guests. Candidates with a background or current work in the following areas will be strongly considered: industrial and systems engineering, information systems and operations management, public health, business administration, or higher education/educational leadership.

Primary responsibilities will include the following:

• Assist with weekly supply pickups, receiving, shopping at regional foodbank, sorting of food and hygiene products, and inventory management.
• Coordinate weekly food recovery efforts including pickups, sorting, and stocking products.
• Ensure bulk and produce items are processed for pantry in front of house.
• Assist with coordination and pick-ups of campus-wide food drive collections.
• Assist with other Field & Fork Pantry projects and tasks as needed.

General Expectations:
Candidates are expected to be highly responsible, organized, excellent communicators, and autonomous. Dress in pantry is business casual such as a DSO polo, khaki pants or knee-length shorts, and closed toe shoes. Students mostly work out of the Pantry location (564 Newell Rd Gainesville FL).

Position reporting structure:
This position will be supervised by and works in collaboration with a full-time professional staff member.

Time Commitment:

• Up to ten hours per week.
• Ideal start date: As soon as possible
• Attend onboarding and training upon employment (details TBD)

Expected Salary:

$15.00/Hr. 

Required Qualifications:

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to work physically in the Field & Fork Pantry.
• Must be able to repetitively crouch, balance, bend, kneel, sit, stoop, reach, stand, and walk.
• Must be able to lift 501b boxes without difficulty.
• Must be able to work outdoors for periods of time.
• Must be able to commit 10 hours per week to this position.
• Must be able to attend any required training and Pantry staff meetings.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

• Strong interest in food security, social services, food access, and/or food systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Excellent attendance and punctuality
