Job Description: |
Provides expertise for the design and development of web applications for UF Research. The individual should be comfortable working with various technologies and modern frameworks. Specifically, .NET, Web API, SQL, IIS. Experience with code versioning, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular and other similar tools used in a team environment a plus.
• Oversees the definition of system scope and objectives based on user needs. Prepares detailed specifications for program development. • Provides feasibility assessments, technical solutions, authors code, troubleshoots applications, maintains installed systems, produces, and maintains documentation, and conducts application quality assurance and testing. • Provides estimates of the analysis and development effort based on requirements • Recommends development of new code or reuse/enhancement of existing code. Participates or leads in component and architecture design, performance monitoring, product evaluation. • Understands industry and IT best practices, develops and fosters the use of systems standards and processes across the organization. • Develop technical documentation (designs, specifications, processes) and communications.
Participates in the design, development, testing and deployment of automated systems and other tools to improve quality and productivity of the research enterprise. Proper documentation for all systems and reports will be maintained.
Responsible for developing applications that will support business analytics, customized queries and reports that facilitate business operations. Performs deployments, which could include after-hours or weekend work. Expected to respond to emergencies and system outages.
Participates in short-range planning and provide input to long-range planning regarding emerging data and systems issues.

Required Qualifications: |
Associate’s degree and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. |
Preferred: |
Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate area of specialization and a minimum two years of experience in designing, testing, debugging and deploying applications.
Demonstrated experience with .NET, ASP, Web API, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other object-oriented languages. Additionally, familiarity with React and Angular is a plus.
Experience with UI development, GIT, JavaScript libraries is beneficial along with structured query language experience.
The successful candidate should have the desire and ability to learn additional technologies as projects demand.
The candidate must be highly analytical, demonstrate problem-solving skills and be able to communicate clearly and effectively. The successful applicant will demonstrate an independent work initiative and team-based collaboration, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, diplomacy and a professional demeanor.
