Job Description:

The University of Florida Health Cancer Center (UFHCC) invites applications of interest for established and motivated population scientists at all stages of career development to complement the Cancer Control and Population Sciences (CCPS) research program, led by Dejana Braithwaite, PhD, MSc, Associate Director for Population Sciences. The mission of the CCPS program is to reduce the cancer burden and associated risk factors in the UFHCC catchment area and beyond.

We are seeking faculty candidates who conduct research on cancer early detection and survivorship. Faculty positions will require expertise that enables a robust population science research agenda, and an outstanding record of research excellence as evidenced by the ability to obtain and sustain independent or collaborative extramural NCI or other NIH-type funding.

The successful candidate will be expected to further strengthen collaborations and ability to build strong inter- and intra-programmatic collaborative research within the CCPS program, the UFHCC, Division of Population Health Sciences in the Department of Surgery, the Department of Health Outcomes and Biomedical Informatics and the University of Florida. Any successful candidate at the Assistant or Associate Professor level must have a proven track record of excellence in leadership to assume a critical role within the CCPS program.

The CCPS research program spans across the six colleges of the UF Health Science Center (Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health and Health Professions, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine), as well as colleges outside of the Health Science Center, including Health and Human Performance, Agricultural and Life Sciences, Engineering, Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Journalism and Communication. Academic appointment will be in the appropriate College and Department.  Academic rank and tenure status will be commensurate with experience and accomplishment.  Compensation includes an excellent benefits package.

Expected Salary:

Negotiable; Commensurate with education and experience

Minimum Requirements:

Faculty with a doctoral level degree in Epidemiology or a related field at Assistant or Associate Professor rank are encouraged to apply.

Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate is an established tenured or tenure-track investigator with a national reputation in scholarship, track record of independent research funding, and the desire to build a research and training program in cancer epidemiology and control. Experience in research programs leadership and administration, research education and training, and technology transfer is desirable. Promising new investigators holding K99/R00 awards are also invited to apply.
