The University of Florida Lastinger Center for Learning’s mission is to improve the quality of teaching, learning, and childcare. Responsibilities will include:

Graphic Design Tasks

  • Works primarily to support professional learning content production, including designing handouts, guides, reports, and other products as needed.
  • Assist as needed in creating other digital assets, such as graphics and illustrations for print, video, and the web.
  • Editing materials and presentations as needed per client request.

Design Innovation and Alignment

  • Ensures all artistic work follows the correct branding while being inventive and imaginative in developing original and creative products.
  • Works with instructional designers to more closely tie design decisions to learning goals.
  • Proposes new ways of thinking about content design based on industry research and best practices.

Project Management

  • Conferring with internal staff and external partners to discuss and determine necessary parameters for creative aspects of projects.
  • Attend and participate in creative development meetings as needed.
  • Use implemented systems to track, maintain, monitor, and iterate on each product as they progress through the development cycle.
  • Maintaining files and records of design and learning content materials.

Professional Learning

  • Gain knowledge of current and appropriate styles and skills to design and develop diverse, equitable, and inclusive resources.
  • Stay current with design trends and best practices.
  • Gain knowledge or mastery of design and project management software.
  • Complete required UF and Lastinger Center training.

Hybrid work location policy:

Lastinger Center for Learning supports and promotes a healthy work-life balance. To achieve this, the Lastinger Center offers a flexible, hybrid work schedule that aligns with the university’s Flexibility in the Workplace Policy. Allowing employees to stagger arrival and departure times as necessary and to vary the number of workdays in the office so long as an employee’s FTE commitment is fulfilled within the university workweek. This policy also allows for occasional, incidental remote work based on individual circumstances.

Expected Salary:

$55,000 - $65,000

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and one year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
