Job Description:

Your supervisory and technical expertise will provide skilled service support, nursing, and patient care. As a working supervisor, you will coordinate service staff schedules and training; perform routine and emergency nursing care; prepare for and assist in various diagnostic exams and procedures; and be responsible for assisting with appointment schedules, admissions and discharges, visitor policies, and emergency call-ins.
Candidates must possess a strong knowledge of veterinary surgical and nursing care and techniques. The ideal candidate is an excellent verbal and written communicator, highly self-motivated, and able to prioritize well. The candidate will strive to promote teamwork both internally and externally within all services of the hospitals.

The UF Large Animal Hospital is located on the Veterinary College campus at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fl. This is a full-time, benefited position and is considered essential personnel. A post-offer education verification, background check, and health assessment are required.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma, or equivalent, and four years of relevant experience or two years of relevant experience in a veterinary academic teaching hospital.

Expected Salary:

$23-25 per hour, dependent on credentials and experience

Minimum Requirements:

Associate’s degree and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Credentialed veterinary technician (CVT/LVT/RVT)
At least three years technical experience in area of specialization related to position.
At least three years relevant experience within a veterinary university system.
At least two years supervisory/leadership experience in a veterinary setting.
