Responsibilities:

Project management coordination, supervision, and strategic planning

  • Conducts project meetings and communicates project status with funders, vendors, project team members, and supervisors.
  • Create and revise policies and procedures, this can include updating existing policies as well as creating new ones.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with the business units and key partner groups to understand their business needs, ensure alignment on objectives, and ensure ongoing buy-in across all project activities.
  • Translate business objectives into projects with clearly defined scope, timing, deliverables, resources, and key measures of success.
  • Proactively manage and communicate ongoing changes in project scope, identify potential crises and devise contingency plans.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation. Provide regular progress reports, including status updates, performance metrics, and project evaluations.
  • Contribute to strategic planning for Agile workflows and practices including, but not limited to change leadership, process mapping, Sprint development, and project documentation.
  • Lead and mentor project managers and team members. Provide guidance and support to ensure effective project execution and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Identify and implement best practices for project management and process improvement. Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the project management team.

Project management operations

  • Create project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines and resource allocation. Oversee the execution of projects, ensuring that milestones are met and deliverables are achieved.
     Lead project meetings and drive project issues through to resolution.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations. Meets with partners to determine customer expectations regarding the project.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Monitor and address risks and issues to ensure minimal impact on project delivery.
  • Facilitates the analysis and resolution of issues that impede project progress.

Project management strategy and quality assurance

  • Lead the development of best practices and tools for project management.
  • Conduct post project assessments and evaluations.
  • Create recommendations to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Ensure comprehensive and seamless project post-implementation transition.
  • Create and implement UAT processes and tests for project health and governance.

Other duties as assigned

Will travel for assigned business purpose minimally (1-2/quarter)

To achieve this, the Lastinger Center offers a flexible, hybrid work schedule that aligns with the university’s Flexibility in the Workplace Policy. Allowing employees to stagger arrival and departure times as necessary and to vary the number of workdays in the office so long as an employee’s FTE commitment is fulfilled within the university workweek. This policy also allows for occasional, incidental remote work based on individual circumstances.

Expected Salary:

$75,000-$90,000

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in in an appropriate area; or a bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or a related field. PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, with a proven track record of managing large-scale or complex production related projects and a team of project managers.
  • Skills:
    • Strong project management skills with experience in planning, executing, and closing projects.
    • Excellent leadership, supervision and team management abilities.
    • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Jira) and project management approaches (e.g. Agile).
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
    • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
    • Proactive and able to anticipate and address potential challenges.
    • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across departments and with various stakeholders.
