The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville is seeking a full-time physician BE/BC in Pediatrics with an interest in or experience with the care of medically complex children. This physician will join our UF Health Multispecialty practice at the Bower Lyman Center, a collaboration with Wolfson Children’s Hospital, which is an innovative, interdisciplinary primary care practice that provides comprehensive care for over 2000 infants, children, teens, and young adults who have special health care needs and may live with disabilities. The Center also offers embedded mental health and inpatient palliative care services as integral components of a comprehensive system of care.
The academic appointment will be a tenure/non-tenure accruing level of Assistant/Associate or Full Professor depending upon experience and qualifications. The position will report to the Chief of the Division of Community and Societal Pediatrics and to the Department Chair, and integrate with other initiatives in the Division.
The current team includes a pediatrician, two advanced practice providers, two care coordinators, a social worker and other clinical support staff who assist with team-based and family-centered care within the medical home.
General Duties:
Provide clinical expertise and comprehensive care within a primary care medical-behavioral home in an outpatient setting to youth and young adults who have chronic, complex medical, developmental and/or behavioral conditions.
Work with diverse academic and community collaborating organizations and agencies with a commitment to advancing the rights of children, youth, and young adults with complex medical conditions and disabilities.
Participate in monthly department faculty meetings, administrative functions and institutional committees as requested. Clinical supervision and education of fellows, residents, medical students and advanced practice providers.
