Job Description:

The pharmacist position participates directly in the daily operation of the Pharmacy. Duties include providing distributive and
clinical services surrounding the preparation, delivery, and administration of medications to inpatients and outpatients. This
includes, but is not limited to, duties expected in both retail and hospital pharmacy settings:
Dispensing of prescription orders for hospital inpatients, and clinic outpatients of both the Small Animal Hospital and the Large
Animal Hospital.
Pulling floor stock requests for hospital units.
Entering the prescription data into the computer system and/or verifying accuracy and appropriateness of the order.
Compounding of special requests orders, which may include chemotherapeutic agents, injectables, orals, and topical
medications.
The pharmacist serves as drug information and teaching resource to hospital staff and clients, and the entire
college, including faculty, clinicians, residents and interns, students, technicians, and referring veterinarians.
The pharmacist 3 will assist in maintaining controlled substance prescription files, perpetual inventory records,
weekly reconciliation of controlled substance inventory, the compounding logbook, controlled substance discard records, daily
pharmacy report, and financial and workload records for the pharmacy. Maintaining the pharmacy daily summary report also
includes a reconciliation of the report. The pharmacist may be requested to assist with oversight of OMNIcell restocking and
reconciliation.
Minimum Requirements: Licensed as a pharmacist in accordance with Chapter 465, Florida Statutes*.

Expected Salary:

$120,000-$130,000 annually

Minimum Requirements:

Licensed as a pharmacist in accordance with Chapter 465, Florida Statutes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Veterinary Hospital Pharmacy experience preferred.
• Completion of a Veterinary Pharmacy Residency in a hospital setting preferred.
• Prior experience compounding both nonsterile and sterile veterinary prescriptions is preferred.
• Demonstrates clear and positive communication skills.
