Job Description:

The Hattori Lab in the Department of Neuroscience at The Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps Institute for Biomedical Innovation & Technology is seeking outstanding and highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate. The Hattori lab focuses on understanding the neural mechanisms of reinforcement learning and cognitive processes such as decision making and number sense in healthy and disease states. We investigate these mechanisms through large-scale recordings of neural activity dynamics, synaptic plasticity dynamics, and neuromodulators from mice engaged in sophisticated behavior tasks (e.g. Virtual Reality tasks). The big data, collected with a large field-of-view 2-photon microscope, will be analyzed using data science approaches. We also perform optogenetics and computational modeling of animal behaviors and neural dynamics. Examples of our relevant works can be found in the following publications: Hattori et al., Cell (2019); Hattori and Komiyama, Neuron (2022); Hattori et al., Nature Neuroscience (2023).
