The University of Florida is currently accepting applications for two tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professors of School Psychology. Applicants should be highly promising or established scholars with strong methodological skills; a record of, or strong potential for, procuring external funding; and the ability and drive to network with others in studying complex societal problems.
Successful applicants will demonstrate the ability to maintain a well-developed, systematic line of research, obtain external funding, supervise graduate student research and field-based experiences, and teach graduate courses in an APA-accredited and CAEP/NASP-approved School Psychology Program. Specific areas of research and teaching specialization are open but preferably complement research of current college and/or center faculty. Minimum qualifications include a doctorate in school psychology or a closely related field, preferably from an APA-accredited program. Candidates with experience with children and youth in educational settings and eligibility for certification and/or licensure in Florida are preferred.
Both 9-month faculty appointments will begin in August 2024 and include the possibility of summer employment. Salary is negotiable, competitive, and commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position provides a negotiable start-up package to ensure faculty are able to be successful. The School Psychology Program is housed within the School of Special Education, School Psychology, and Early Childhood Studies. The school’s faculty and three associated centers are national leaders in generating more than $40 million in funded projects providing excellent opportunities for collaboration and support for research and scholarly productivity. Within the school, the school psychology program is closely affiliated with a new multi-disciplinary center, the UF Prevention and Intervention Network (PIN) for Youth, Families, Schools and Communities. PIN’s mission is to promote the healthy development and well-being of youth through prevention and intervention research and engagement. The center was established in the College of Education in 2022 and currently includes approximately 15 faculty, staff, and students dedicated to becoming a primary, reliable resource for prevention and intervention science as it relates to children and youth’s social, physical, mental, and educational well-being. PIN currently manages seven externally funded grants and contracts totaling more than $20 million from multiple agencies, including the U.S. Department of Education, National Institutes of Health, and Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute.
