Job Description:

The Janiszewska laboratory in the Department of Molecular Medicine at UF Scripps Biomedical Research has a postdoctoral position available for highly talented, creative, independent and self-motivated scholars. The Janiszewska laboratory mission is to understand and disrupt the complex ecosystem of brain tumors. We utilize cutting-edge technologies, including highly multiplexed confocal microscopy, single-cell and spatial transcriptomics, to decipher interactions between cancer cell subpopulations, which drive fast progression and drug resistance in glioblastoma, the most aggressive brain tumor. We work with fresh tumor tissues, archival tumor specimen, murine models and primary cell lines. We are seeking a highly motivated researcher with expertise in in vivo work, cancer biology or immunology. Our research projects require excellent molecular biology and in vitro cell culture skills and may include aspects of computational biology, if interested.

Expected Salary:

Commensurate with experience.

Minimum Requirements:

PhD in cancer/cell/molecular biology. A pending doctoral degree may be considered with approval of the Principal Investigator.

This position works in a laboratory or vivarium environment.  Further details of the physical requirements of established essential functions for this position will be addressed/discussed during the interview process.

Preferred Qualifications:

Interest in cancer genetics, cancer immunology, epigenetics, tumor evolution. Experience in work with mouse models, confocal imaging, cell culture, next-gen sequencing, molecular biology techniques (CRISPR, PCR, WB, immunofluorescence).
