Job Description:

The Center for Governmental Responsibility (CGR) at the University of Florida Levin College of Law seeks to hire an Academic Researcher to assist with the work of the center, including initiatives related to the Equal Rights Amendment, heirs’ property and community preservation, privacy, and social justice more generally. 

The Researcher will work in collaboration with the Co-Directors of CGR and the Associate Dean for Research and Faculty Development to establish and carry out a robust scholarly agenda designed to influence policy concerning equality of rights; privacy rights in an age of mass surveillance; property loss in low-income and communities of color; and other social justice projects. 

The Researcher will maintain a clearinghouse of research; coordinate and assist research efforts by academic partners; generate content for the center’s webpage and research repository; build connections with organizations working on related policy work; and otherwise decide how to communicate the work of the center to multiple audiences. This is a non-tenure accruing position.

Expected Salary:

$60,000

Minimum Requirements:
  • A JD degree
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Public interest advocacy experience in related areas
  • Demonstrated research interest in related areas
  • Strong writing skills; and
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • License to practice law in Florida
