Job Description:

The Advertising Department in the College of Journalism and Communications is seeking for a student to assist with clerical and administrative office support.

Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Job duties will include: 

  • Assisting department Chair, faculty and staff 
  • Create graphics for bulletin boards and digital display 
  • Customer Service: Answering phones, voicemail, routing calls appropriately, answering questions related to the department of Advertising, assisting students with various forms, directing students to various locations within the building 
  • Organization: Scanning and filing documents, keeping the work area neat and tidy at all times, monitoring office supplies 
  • Data Entry: Preparing reports, creating new spreadsheets as well as maintaining existing spreadsheets  
  • Other duties as assigned 
Expected Salary:

$10 per hour

Minimum Requirements:

Must have good communication skills and graphic design experience. 

This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) and must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Graphic design experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Outlook)
  • Demonstrate customer service skills, attention to detail, strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as follow verbal and written instructions
  • Demonstrate professional etiquette at all times
