The University of Florida/IFAS Extension 4-H Camping Program is looking for 10 Summer Camp Cabin Leaders for 4-H Camp Cloverleaf in Lake Placid, FL. Summer Camp Staff are the vital foundation to our summer camp program, as they are a positive role model, create lasting memories for all campers, provide safe cabin supervision, and have fun engaging in camper activities. Hired Summer Camp Staff will be required to start paid training May 16th or 22nd, depending upon their position. Training will consist of hands-on, in-depth training in youth development and supervision, behavior management, the experiential learning process, and other tools for a successful summer program. Training will also include going through program certifications (if not already certified), familiarizing staff with their facility, traditions, and making final preparations for summer. The official first day of camp will begin on Monday, June 5, 2024, and will end Friday, July 28, 2024. Working as a Summer Camp Specialist for the University of Florida 4-H Camping Program can provide a season of self-growth and an unforgettable working experience. Many practical work experiences and skills are gained during a summer at camp, such as leadership, communication, networking opportunities, collaboration with a team, letters of recommendation, professional certifications, and professional development to just name a few. We have had camp staff fulfill internships as part of their employment. 4-H is the nation’s largest youth development organization. There are 6.5 million young people in grades K-12 enrolled in the 4-H programs across America and approximately 200,000 within the State of Florida. This non-formal, practical educational program for youth is the youth development program of Florida Cooperative Extension – part of the University of Florida IFAS. The Florida 4-H Youth Development Program uses a learn-by-doing approach and caring adults to help youth gain the knowledge and life skills they need to be productive, responsible citizens. Florida 4-H AmeriCorps Environmental Educators will serve a critical role in delivering 4-H youth environmental education programs about Florida’s air, land, soil, and water, both on-site at Florida 4-H Camp Cloverleaf and through outreach at schools, communities, organizations, etc.

Summer Camp Cabin Leaders are the vital foundation to our summer camp program, as they are a positive role model, create lasting memories for all campers, assist with day camper integration daily, and have fun engaging in camper activities. Interviews will begin via Zoom in early January. Candidates selected for an interview will be contacted via email with additional details. Hired Summer Camp Staff will be required to start paid training on May 15, 2024. Training will consist of hands-on, in-depth training in youth development and supervision, behavior management, the experiential learning process, and other tools for a successful summer program. Training will also include familiarizing staff with their facility, traditions, and making final preparations for summer. The official first day of camp will begin on Monday, June 3, 2024, and will end Thursday, August 1, 2024. During July 3-5, 2024, Timpoochee will not be providing any youth programs, so staff will have that time off. Timpoochee Summer Camp Health Director 60330000 - AG-YOUTH,FAMILIES& COMMUNITIES Okaloosa
The University of Florida/IFAS Extension 4-H Camping Program is looking for a Camp Health Director for 4-H Camp Timpoochee in Niceville, FL. The Camp Timpoochee Summer Leadership Team is comprised of the Camp Director, Assistant Camp Director, Camp Health Director, and the Summer Camp Coordinators. The Camp Health Director reports directly to the camp directors. The Camp Health Director is the lead medical professional on the camp staff, responsible for managing the health center and handling any and all medical related situations that arise. The Camp Health Director is responsible for distribution of approved prescription and over-the-counter medications/first aid to our campers. Campers or staff members with serious ailments/injuries are transported to the local urgent care facility or hospital by camp staff. All camp staff will be required to have American Red Cross certification in CPR/FA/AED before summer camp starts. For staff not yet certified, training will be provided prior to start of camp. The Camp Health Director will be provided housing on- site and will be expected to be on-call 24 hours a day, Monday morning through Friday afternoon. The official first day of camp will begin on Monday, June 3, 2024, and will end Wednesday, July 31, 2024. We are looking for applicants that can work any number of weeks (1-8 weeks). During July 3-5, 2024, Timpoochee will not be providing any youth programs, so staff will have that time off. Training will begin a few days before the employee’s start date and will consist of training in youth protection and time for organizing the health center. Training will also include going through program certifications (if not already certified), familiarizing staff with their facility, traditions, and making final preparations for summer.
