The position of Core Research Facility Technician III (CRFT 3) in the Interdisciplinary Center for Biotechnology (ICBR) Gene Expression and Genotyping Shared Resource (GEG) will process samples for single cell RNA-seq and spatial transcriptomics analysis, and perform nucleic acid quantification/analysis using Nanodrop, Qubit and the Agilent Bioanalyzer/TapeStation. The CRFT 3 will also perform ddPCR and prepare cDNA libraries for bulk RNA-seq. Additional duties include assisting customers, tracking lab supplies and other lab related works as needed. This individual must be able to work in a highly dynamic team environment, multitask, think critically, problem-solve and work independently. ICBR staff must adhere to all University of Florida and ICBR laboratory safety standards and requirements.
Transgenic Model Core Technician I 11800000 - RE-ANIMAL CARE SERVICES Main Campus (Gainesville, FL)
The Rodent Models Breeding Core Technician 1 (RMBCT1) is an integral team member of the Rodent Models Breeding Core (RMBC). The RMBCT1 will assist in safely carrying out daily responsibilities assigned by the area Operations Manager or Program Colony Managers. Will be responsible for routine and non-routine procedures as requested by our various stakeholders including the immediate supervisor/manager, veterinarians, research investigators or experimental protocols. The work is performed under direct supervision. This position is responsible for carrying out the Animal Care Services' (ACS) directives and SOPs as governed by the Animal Welfare Act and all applicable rules and regulations. Will report any suspected or actual deviations to SOPs or non-routine situations immediately to their supervisor, manager, or their designee. The RMBC is a full service 8000 cage breeding facility for the University of Florida faculty offering management of their experimental rodent colonies to effectively and efficiently handle all of their colonies experimental needs and timelines. The RMBCT1 will perform duties such as mating and tail snip collection from a weekly technical work list prepared by colony managers, house incoming animals, pack outgoing animals, wean litters, and create and maintain needed sterile surgical and technical equipment packs among other tasks. Uses aseptic procedures to minimize contamination as required. Ensures housing and environmental compliance with the "NIH Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals". Arrives, leaves, and takes breaks at work as scheduled and strictly adheres to ACS attendance policy. All actions are completed by strictly and consistently following applicable ACS SOPs, IACUC and UF EH&S including safety procedures, guidelines and policies.

This full-time position is based at the IFAS Analytical Services (ANSERV) Laboratories in Gainesville, Florida. The laboratories support the public through the Livestock Waste Testing (LWTL) and Extension Soil Testing (ESTL) Labs, and UF research through the Analytical Research (ARL) and Environmental Water Quality (EWQL) Labs. Key responsibilities include overseeing operations in all four labs, supervising and training laboratory staff, ensuring data integrity, providing exceptional customer service, and managing sample receiving, sorting, preparation, analysis, and disposal. Additional duties involve managing hazardous waste inventory and transfer, coordinating laboratory safety procedures, troubleshooting analytical instruments and other equipment, updating Standard Operating Procedures as needed, and planning and coordinating maintenance for all analytical instruments. Given the EWQL's NELAP certification, the role also ensures NELAP compliance and prepares all four labs for the annual EH&S audits.

The candidate will travel to participating study clinics and community events for recruitment activities and check-in visits, including specimen transportation. The successful candidate will work closely with an interdisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and clinicians to develop cutting-edge neuromodulation techniques. The Medical Scientist will perform work central to support new projects in the lab, collecting data, and developing data analysis pipelines to support research projects, including quality assurance analysis, statistical analysis, visualization, and interpretation. This team member will interface with several data modalities, including intracranial neurophysiology, wearable sensor data, medical imaging, behavioral task data, and clinical data.
