The division provides inpatient services at Shand’s Children’s Hospital, ranked #1 Children’s Hospital in Florida in the 2022-2023 U.S. News & World Report. Our pediatric nephrology program provides services to infants, children, adolescents, and young adults with all forms of acute and chronic congenital and acquired kidney diseases. Our team offers expertise in the care of young children with renal failure and patients with complex renal abnormalities who require dialysis and transplantation. These include infants, children, and adolescents with a variety of bladder and kidney problems, patients with hypertension and electrolyte abnormalities, and the assessment of pregnant women carrying a fetus with a renal abnormality noted on ultrasound. Physicians over the entire tri-state area call for consultations, as do the faculty of the University of Florida Health Science Center who need joint consultative care of the complex pediatric problems. Additionally, UF Health Pediatrics has a history of educational excellence and promoting research interests.
