Job Description: |
- Supervise and perform laboratory testing of human biological samples for diagnostic purposes using various methodologies. Testing includes, but is not limited to, operation of state-of-the-art automated point of-care, chemistry, immunoassay, hematology, urinalysis, and coagulation systems and performing various clinical laboratory assays using automated and/or manual methods.
- Responsible for all routine quality assurance activities associated with the performance of laboratory and point-of-care testing; includes reporting results and all quality control documentation.
- Ensure the overall maintenance of the laboratory. Purchase supplies, maintain instruments and equipment, and comply with all laboratory policies and procedures.
- Keeps laboratory procedure manuals up to date. Responsible for keeping the UFHPL Student Health Care Center Core Lab in a continual state of high-quality readiness per CAP, AHCA and CLIA requirements. Conduct performance appraisals and competency assessments for staff.
- Actively oversee the interfacing of automated instrumentation with the laboratory information system (LIS); involved in LIS-associated tasks such as test builds and dictionary maintenance.
- Participate, with other technologists, in development of tests as defined by the laboratory director.

Expected Salary: |
Starting salary is between $74,000 - $82,500
|
Required Qualifications: |
Licensed as a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor in one of the specialty areas to which the position is allocated and four years of appropriate experience.

Preferred: |
Prior Clinical Laboratory experience in the areas of Point-of-Care, Clinical Chemistry, Immunology, Hematology, Urinalysis, and Coagulation. - Experience in phlebotomy - Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and execute laboratory testing. - Ability to use problem solving techniques in the laboratory. - Ability to communicate with other technologists and supervisors. - Ability to collect and analyze data. - Ability to understand and apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures for clinical testing |
