The University of Florida, Department of Emergency Medicine, seeks a motivated Clerkship Program Coordinator to oversee all aspects of our Emergency Medicine Clerkship program and support medical student education. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Academic Administration, this position plays a vital role in managing clerkship operations, coordinating student schedules, maintaining academic records, and supporting faculty engagement with learners.
You’ll collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to ensure an exceptional educational experience for UF and visiting students rotating through the Emergency Department.
The UF Department of Emergency Medicine is affiliated with UF Health Shands Hospital, a 1,162-bed academic medical center and Level 1 trauma facility. As a regional referral hub, it offers unmatched clinical exposure for students and exemplifies excellence in teaching, research, and patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Clerkship Program Coordination
- Lead orientation, scheduling, evaluations, and communication for all EM Clerkship students on a 4-week cycle.
- Coordinate weekly simulation, didactic, and EMS ride-along sessions.
- Proctor exams, prepare mid- and final evaluations, and present student progress to grading committees.
- Track student awards, support faculty teaching engagement, and contribute to ongoing curriculum improvements.
- Coordinate faculty involvement and track student award nominations and recognitions (e.g. Student Educator of the Block, Procedure Palooza).
Academic Systems & Reporting
- Manage course materials and evaluations through platforms like Canvas, Qualtrics, and New Innovations.
- Enter final grades and faculty evaluations, maintain student records, and oversee Academic Activity Reporting (AAR) each semester.
- Support website updates and propose data-informed process enhancements.
Career Track & Visiting Student Support
- Facilitate advising, rotation placement, evaluations, and events for internal and external students pursuing EM residencies.
- Coordinate URiM externship support, manage VSAS/VSLO applications, and ensure timely submission of SLOEs.
- Assist with student engagement events such as mentorship dinners and application workshops.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Coordinate MS4 electives (e.g., Ultrasound, Critical Care) and assist with research placements.
- Oversee the Emergency Department’s shadowing program, including application review, documentation, scheduling, and compliance across UF and partner programs.

Expected Salary: |
The annual salary ranges between $50,000 - $54,000 and is commensurate with education and experience.
