Maintains, tests, repairs, and installs fire sprinkler systems on and off campus, to include fire pumps, jockey pumps, backflow preventers, and air compressors. Conducts routine preventative maintenance on sprinkler fire suppression systems.
Performs work and uses hand tools at ground level and aloft on ladders. Works in attics, basements, crawl spaces, and other similar places. Moves and/or lifts weights such as test equipment, ladders, tools, and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds. Wears appropriate PPE and follows established safety practices and procedures. Drives state-owned vehicle periodically to various job sites as required.
Generates material lists and acquires materials for efficient work. Initiate purchases of materials and parts used for repairs. Keeps accurate records of materials used and maintains daily time reports to efficiently complete work and document details of the functions performed. Documentation of fire sprinkler systems by use of handheld device (Aim) as well as provide support and documentation for any state/local inspection processes. Enter maintenance data via the work order system for work requests (WR) and time.
Employee must obtain a State of Florida Class āEā Operator License within 60 days of date of employment.
A Criminal Background Check is Required
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE:
Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily. 40 hours per week.
Emergency work (as needed.)
On-Call/Standby (as required).
Position considered as Essential Personnel as defined by UF Policy.
