Job Description:

The Dean of Students Office is looking for Federal Work-Study (FWS) students who are interested in the Hitchcock Field and Fork Pantry. Applicants must be able to commit to work 10 or more hours per week and be available to attend scheduled staff meetings


Pantry Student Assistants create a welcoming environment in the Pantry and help all shoppers feel comfortable. Primarily, daily duties consist of conducting transactions through the usage of a computer and iPad forms, answering questions, and processing incoming food donations (labeling and stocking on shelves). Additionally, Pantry Student Assistants may be involved in other tasks like designing signage, brainstorming social media ideas, or attending tabling and outreach events on behalf of the Pantry. This position is somewhat stationary when working at the desk, and active when processing donations.  

The Pantry is currently operating through a to-go bag and online ordering system that promotes physical distancing. Pantry Student Assistants will assemble bags of food and help maintain sanitation standards
Expected Salary:

$8.56 per hour

Minimum Requirements:
  • Federal Work-Study (FWS)
  • Applicant must be able to commit to work 10 or more hours per week and be available to attend scheduled staff meetings.
  • Have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrate previous experience with customer service

Proficient with verbal and written communication

Demonstrate attention to professionalism, dependability, and timeliness

This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) or Federal Work-Study (FWS) and must maintain a 2.0 grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week.
