This position assists faculty and staff with research coordination, regulatory/compliance functions, budget development, fiscal management, data entry, data management and research implementation. Primarily responsible for ensuring research is accomplished through Good Clinical Practices and Ethical Research. Serves as a source of research-related information and provides support to faculty and staff. The Clinical Research Nurse (CRN) is a specialized research professional working with and under the direction of the clinical Principal Investigator (Pl). Biotility at the University of Florida’s Center of Excellence for Regenerative Health Biotechnology (CERHB), is seeking a Curriculum Development and Training Specialist, with a focus on providing a pipeline of talent to the bioscience industry, and assisting individuals transfer their knowledge and skill-base to industry positions. The incumbent will be involved in teaching and training a wide variety of students, including those pursuing post-secondary certificates and degrees, and direct workforce training. The incumbent will develop and optimize curricula for workforce training needs of the biotechnology industry, both in-class as well as on-line delivery, and will identify and collaborate with industry experts to serve as specialized instructors. Additional responsibilities are to implement credit and credentialing pathways for Biotility coursework, and establish industry practices within Biotility for product manufacture and sale. Biological Scientist IV - Clinical Genomics 29180300 - MD-NEUROLOGY-MOVEMENT DISORDER Main Campus (Gainesville, FL)
This Biological Scientist IV position is part of the University of Florida’s College of Medicine’s Department of Neurology and the Clinical and Translational Science Institute’s (CTSI) Clinical Genomics Program. This staff member will play a leading role in helping to communicate and organize work between Dr. Farrer and a dedicated team of scientists studying the genetic etiology of neurologic disorders. The latter include a clinical studies coordinator, genetic counsellor, bioinformatician and technicians (Biological Scientist II) within the program and licensed molecular genetic staff within UF Health Pathology. This position will perform high-throughput sequencing, multiplex genotyping and Sanger sequencing, and a combination of population and pedigree-based molecular genetics and summary statistical analyses based on that data. As such they will be expected to be adept with bioinformatic methods for genome alignment and annotation, and genetic variant analysis, including a variety of open source statistical packages. Their research effort will support several IRB research protocols in brain health and neurologic disease and pediatric medicine. Their clinical service will oversee the design, development and successful implementation/adoption of new clinical genomic testing for UF Health. The applicant must also be willing to lend their genetic expertise to accelerate and meet demand for genetic testing during the current Sars-Cov2 pandemic.
