P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School, a publicly-funded K-12 laboratory school affiliated with the College of Education at the University of Florida, seeks nominations and applications for the position of High School U.S. History Honors and Advanced Placement U.S. History Instructor. This is a full-time, instructional position that reports to the Principal of P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School. P.K. Yonge’s curriculum is being transformed to support the learning success of every student. P.K. Yonge students are issued a Chromebook at the beginning of each school year as a personal learning device and course support is provided through Canvas and Google Classroom. The high school U.S. History instructor will have opportunities to collaborate with the 11th grade instructor of English/Language Arts to design and deliver interdisciplinary units organized around a driving question. The ideal candidate would have high school American History teaching experience and recent training in educational technology and/or experience as an online learner. P.K. Yonge Instructors are expected to leverage technology to support student learning. As faculty members of a developmental research school, PKY teachers partner with university researchers and PKY teaching colleagues to design and test innovations in response to contemporary educational challenges. As a teacher in a laboratory school, interested candidates should be comfortable with both scheduled and unscheduled observers and visitors. Candidates should also have an interest in teacher education.

P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School, a publicly-funded K-12 laboratory school affiliated with the College of Education at the University of Florida, seeks nominations and applications for the position of Elementary Behavior Support Specialist. This is a full-time, 10-month position that reports to the Assistant Principal of P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School. P.K. Yonge’s elementary program moved into an innovative 21st century, state-of-the-art facility in fall 2012. P.K. Yonge elementary teachers are organized in learning communities (K-1, 2-3, 4-5) so that they may collaborate to design and deliver curriculum aligned with the Florida Standards to address the individual learning needs of our students. Seven teachers work together in a shared space that includes different-sized rooms and common open spaces that are visible to all that teach and learn in the community. The ideal candidate would have elementary experience, recent success in collaborating with stakeholders to support student success, and strategies for leveraging technology to support student learning and to facilitate collaboration and communication. As a developmental research school, faculty partner with university researchers and PKY teaching colleagues to design and test innovations in response to contemporary educational challenges. Candidates should also have an interest in practitioner research.
