The Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering at the University of Florida (UF) invites applications for two full-time open-rank tenure-track faculty positions in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE). We seek applicants with expertise in ISE methods for the modeling, analysis, and optimization of stochastic systems (first position) and modeling of health systems or human systems (second position). Areas of methodological emphasis/focus include (but are not limited to) stochastic optimization, stochastic modeling, queueing theory, simulation, Markov decision processes, Bayesian decision analysis, data analytics, human factors analysis, human-machine/human-AI interaction analysis, human behavior modeling, and related fields. Ideal candidates will have prior experience in the interplay between ISE methods and specific domain(s), including (but not limited to) service and queueing systems, production and operations planning, healthcare operations management, medical decision-making, healthcare policy design, and human-in-the-loop systems.

Core Research Facility Technician III - NextGen DNA Sequencing 11600107 - RE-ICBR-NEXTGEN Main Campus (Gainesville, FL)
The Nextgen DNA sequencing laboratory mission is to provide researchers access to custom and high-throughput, project-oriented DNA sequencing. The position of Core Research Facility Technician III in the Interdisciplinary Center for Biotechnology (ICBR) requires training in molecular biology with hands on experience in DNA library construction for the Illumina and Oxford NanoPore (ONT) next-generation sequencing (NGS) platforms. The Core Research Facility Technician III will contribute to the support of research projects conducted in the ICBR NGS Core lab.  Responsibilities include performing quality control (QC) assays of samples, construction of high-quality sequencing libraries (Illumina, PacBio and ONT), protocol troubleshooting, set-up of instrument runs and machine maintenance. This individual will need to exhibit good interpersonal and communication skills. The incumbent must be able to multitask, think critically, problem-solve and work independently, and adhere to all University of Florida and ICBR laboratory safety standards and requirements.
