The University of Florida Natural Resources Leadership Institute (FNRLI), located in the School of Forest Resources and Conservation (SFRC), is currently recruiting for a Program Coordinator. This full-time position involves coordinating the many activities of FNRLI (http://nrli.ifas.ufl.edu/) which include the core program, a nine-month long series of three-day sessions conducted around the state, additional training and facilitation activities, and alumni engagement efforts. The Coordinator reports to the Director of the FNRLI. Primary duties include, but are not limited to: 1) Administration and Logistical support, including arranging venues, managing fiscal needs and tracking NRLI expenditures and budgets, 2) Program Management, including on-line communication with program Fellows, coordinating the Project Team and associated tasks and assisting with the design, implementation and evaluation of program syllabus and sessions, 3) Partnership building and Marketing, including managing the FNRLI website and social media strategy, writing and publishing the NRLI newsletter and coordinating alumni engagement activities. The Program Coordinator will also develop and sustain effective working relationships within SFRC and IFAS and with agencies, non-profits, stakeholder groups, and community groups. The position is based in Gainesville, Florida. Hours will vary depending upon training sessions, locations, meetings in and around the state and occasionally meetings outside the state of Florida. The position will have irregular hours and require overnight travel for seven, 3-day sessions/year.

This SPECIALIST TEAMS non-exempt position shall coordinate, manage, and maintain several computer-based information systems at the IRREC, including making specific recommendations regarding operational polices, selection of hardware and related software, and required training for information systems. SPECIALIST shall be responsible for coordination, management, and maintenance of IRREC servers, computers, audiovisual equipment, poster printers, and wireless hardware. SPECIALIST will perform initial computer hardware and software setup for IRREC faculty and staff, including testing and documenting computer systems applications. SPECIALIST will investigate and solve minor equipment and software problems and train IRREC faculty and staff in the use of equipment, software applications, or systems. SPECIALIST shall provide technical consulting to faculty and staff regarding hardware investments. The SPECIALIST shall also ensure compatibility among computer systems in the Center and with systems found in discipline departments. SPECIALIST will be responsible for system security within IRREC, including assigning e-mail addresses, CICS and SASS access, Gatorlink accounts, and administrative applications.

The research director will be responsible to the COO. The research director will oversee all research efforts of the Citrus Research and Development Foundation, Inc. (CRDF). Such responsibilities will include writing Requests for Proposals for research requests of the Board, preparing written summaries of proposals received and otherwise informing committee members and board members on whether proposals meet priorities and goals established by the Board. The research director will oversee research projects and report to the COO, CRDF Committees and the CRDF Board of Directors on progress regarding same. This includes interacting with PIs for the purpose of informing the committee and board members of the status of research projects. The research director will review internally and externally-funded projects with the Scientific Advisory Board, CRDF Committees, and the CRDF Board of Directors. Additionally, the research advisor will assess research reports for timelines and deliverables and recommend to the COO the extension or termination of projects. The research director will oversee the evaluation of field trial materials and the conveyance of data regarding same to growers, as well as overseeing the evaluation of field trials, data collection and data distribution of joint projects with industry partners. This includes supervising field trial staff. The research director will communicate with staff on the development of NDAs, and otherwise assist staff in administrative matters as it relates to research activities. The research director will represent CRDF, as determined by the COO, on committees and task forces for which CRDF participates. While the research director reports to the COO, he/she shall also communicate with the CRDF Board of Directors, businesses, growers, researchers and governmental agencies engaged in HLB projects.
