Job Description:

K-12 Workforce Development. Identify, develop, shape, and lead K-12 and other related transportation workforce initiatives for the STRIDE Center. Develop an annual workplan of activities. Assess current K-12 STEM for leveraging opportunities with other existing programs and collaborates with the H.W. College of Engineering’s K-12 Workforce Development Coordinator. Establishes relationships with local and state elementary, middle and high schools, works with them to develop suitable activities to engage their students with the STRIDE Center’s research and educational programs and activities.

Technology Transfer. Using the STRIDE Center’s technology transfer plan, identify opportunities, engage stakeholders, create strategies and tactics for implementing research results. Review funded transportation research projects to identify promising results and identify opportunities and mechanisms for disseminating or implementing research results. Execute and manage plans. Works with STRIDE researchers and monitor projects to ensure technology transfer activities are being carried out during the project conceptualization phase, during the research phase of the project and at the end of the project. Assesses training needs, consults with the STRIDE Center’s Research Coordinator and/or Director regarding instructional needs for training and learning technology. Works with STRIDE researchers to assist them in developing and delivering training based on the needs of each project or product. The incumbent should keep abreast of current practices and trends in the training/learning/development field.

Other duties as assigned. Working on other duties related to workforce development and technology transfer initiatives and the STRIDE Center in general.
Advertised Salary:

$50,000 - $70,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree is preferred
  • Teaching experience
  • Transportation engineering background.
  • Prior teaching experience or teaching certificate or degree in education.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and coordinate multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills orally and in writing.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Must exercise professionalism; represent the UFTI and STRIDE in a professional manner.
  • Knowledge of email marketing and web conferencing platforms.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective customer relations with clients.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with peers, must foster a team environment.
